FIVE JAPANESE GREETINGS AND PHRASES FOR BEGINNERS (AND YOU CAN USE IN DAILY LIFE)

Japan, the Land of the Rising Sun, is the third largest economy and the most technologically advanced country. It has made stupendous contribution in every field from automobiles to robotics. Doraemon, Pokemon, Nintendo Gameboy, PSP, Anime, Manga, etc. are all Japan’s creations.
Japan has a rich history and culture. It is a mix of ancient and modern. It has sure embraced modernity but has also preserved its old customs and culture.
Here is the list of 5 Japanese Phrases and words you can use in daily life.



1.     KONNICHIWA



      
                     ‘Konnichiwa’ means ‘Hello’ or ‘Good Day’.



2.     ARIGATO GOZAIMASU

  

‘Thank You’. It is a polite manner of saying Thank You. Or you can simply say, ‘Arigato’.


3.     LIE



No, ‘Lie’ doesn’t mean to lie (as in English). Lie in Japanese means to say ‘No’. It is pronounced as Lee-ay (‘ay’ like in ‘lay’)



4.     GOMEN’NASAI



        You can say ‘Gomen’nasai’, If you want to apologize. It means ‘I am Sorry’.


5.     SUMIMASEN



 Sumimasen’ means ‘Excuse Me’.
